7p-11p: Cocktails
The Aristocrat Lounge
6507 Burnet Road

The Aristocrat Lounge, formerly The Poodle Dog Lounge, is a neighborhood place walking distance to our house! It’s kind of like a dive bar took a bath and got dressed up. Dog friendly patio, delicious pork products from the Three Little Pigs food truck in the back. Lots of booths, a couple of pool tables – if you haven’t been to Burnet Road in a while, this might bring you back in the future. We stopped by the other night and had a lovely time.

Attire: T shirt and Jeans would be fine in this place – being Austin, you’ll see a range of outfits, from people dressed up on a date to folks who look like they’re hosting a clothing outreach program…you know, to give ironically ugly clothing a chance to get some fresh air and think about its life choices. We’re wearing jeans and plaid shirts with snaps. Yes.

9:30p-1a: Cocktails and Snacks
The Townsend
718 Congress Avenue

The Townsend is a swank little place right next door to the wedding venue, so you can have a test run at figuring out where to go. We’ve reserved the back room and we’ll have plates of food, passed appetizers and a couple of cocktails, but you’re also free to order anything you like from the bar. The Townsend is dark and trendy, with a friendly staff and delicious drinks. You’ll like it.

Attire: Dressier clothes – maybe not a suit or a gown, but dress shirts and dresses would feel right at home. The whole place isn’t ours, as last night, so you’ll get to see some Austin downtown wildlife. Hush! Observe the former frat boy in his designer jeans and dress shirt with the cuffs rolled up! Is that a camel light cigarette? Amazing creatures…
We’re wearing khakis and dress shirts, and I’m sure we’ll have on jackets – not ties, though.

Saturday March 5th, 2016

6p-11p: Wedding
The Contemporary Austin
700 Congress Avenue

Dress fancy pants. We’re wearing grey suits, but we’re not wearing ties. I know, heathen, but what are you going to do? See http://www.swappell.com/index.php/attire/ for more.

4p-10p: Socialize
Kevin & David’s House

Our house is a small 1952 ranch house in the Allandale neighborhood of Austin. We did just add on a couple of small decks out in the front and back, and our landscape project probably won’t be completely done yet (SO CLOSE) – but you can come see Bacon and Biscuit in their natural habitat and watch David try like mad to keep Kevin’s mom from feeding them everything on her plate.

Attire: Wear whatever you like! We’ll have lots of wine and cheese, cheese and crackers, crackers and other little nibbly things until around 6:30 or so when we’ll have a mess of BBQ delivered. DO LET US KNOW if you are coming so we can get you some meat.

We’re wearing jeans again, and I wouldn’t be surprised if another snap front shirt made its way out of our closet. Depending on the weather, a t-shirt might also save you from seeing my bare chest. If you have that orange waffle weave t-shirt dress that says MIAMI in gold glitter, now’s the time to wear it. OH PLEASE OH PLEASE OH PLEASE…

If you have any questions at all – please do not hesitate to email either one of us –

davidsweeney@gmail.com or kevinchappell@gmail.com

We hope you’re having a great weekend!

Thank you, we love you (probably), and we’ll see you soon.

David and Kevin

Some additions to the site…

We added a couple of hotels to the site on the advice of a dear local son who will be joining us that weekend.

We altered the attire section so it isn’t quite so glaringly conforming to the gender binary.  Wear what you want!  We love it!  We love you!

We added a gift registry.

COMING SOON: More information about what to do around town, what to see that’s cool or unique to Austin, and maybe a picture of Biscuit.
